KanCan Demin & Sizing

It is an absolute honor to partner with KanCan jeans to bring you this post, and my IG story try-on today!

Frayed ankles, classic colors and cuts, high-rise mom jeans – basically all the denim styles I am looking for, KanCan is serving up!  I always admire when a brand’s finger is on the pulse, and theirs is!

During a rainy day this week, my little sister and I visited the tattoo shop where we had our ears pierced recently, and then headed over to Optimist Hall for a sister lunch-date, which is where we snapped these photos.  I grew up in a family of four girls, and I adore spending time with my sisters whenever I can.  I ordered a Land & Sea sushi burrito from Zukku, and grabbed a soda at newly opened Harriet’s Hamburgers. We had a great time chatting, enjoying the cool weather, artistic atmosphere, and our delicious sushi!

My outfit, along with the other two KanCan jeans I shared in my IG story try-on, is linked at the bottom of this post. For KanCan sizing tips, be sure to read below!

KANCAN FITS & SIZING

While ordering, I referred to each item’s size chart, and then selected the size based on what was recommended for my waist measurement.  However, in my experience, I have found it would’ve been better to first check the size chart recommendation, but then size down at least 1 size!

Thea High Rise Ankle Skinny – 28

(As pictured). This was my favorite style out of the three! Perhaps because it’s so unlike anything I currently own. I love the frayed waistline and ankles, as it really softens up the lines of the denim. It is a casual denim, and pairs beautifully with boots and a striped sweater for fall!

Sizing: I would have preferred these to be a little more snug on the waist and behind, as there is a little too much room available, so I recommend considering going down at least 1 size.

Teresa High Rise Super Skinny – 28

I love the deep denim wash, and beautifully placed distressing on the ankles. Also, the button closure is something I have been really liking. There is plenty of room in this pair, and I should have sized down at least 1 size..

Mae High Rise Classic Skinny – 27

The fringe frayed ankle is what sold me on this pair. I think this is probably a good size, but I would’ve also considered going down 1 size for a more snug fit!

SIZING COMPARISON REFERENCE

For reference, I am 5.8″ tall, 30″ waist. Below, I’ve listed a variety of brands, and the size I currently prefer in their denim items (across a wide range of fits: skinny, jeggings, mom jeans, shorts, etc).  As you probably know, all items will fit differently based on their style and how you want the garment to fit specifically, so sizing is always relative; but, hopefully this provides you with a reference point!

  • Abercrombie – 28
  • OneTeaspoon – 28
  • Zara – 6
  • Free People – 28
  • Levis – 28
  • Gianni Bini – 27
  • Target (Wild Fable) – 28 (4 or 6)
  • American Eagle – 4 or 6

It is such an honor to bring you this post. I truly hope you find these details helpful when selecting your next KanCan fit!

with love,

Alaina
